Frequently Asked Questions

How Does Store Credit Work?

We give 1/4th of the list price of a book as in-store credit! This store credit can then be used on 1/2 of your purchase.
We only take one bag or box of books per visit as we have limited staff and it can take a few minutes.

What Types of Books Do You Accept? *

What we take depends on condition, popularity, and what we have in stock. We accept fiction and non-fiction of various genres in paperback and some in hardcover (depending on subject, year of publication and the current demand.)

Books must be in good condition, have little to no notes, underlining, highlighting, etc. We do not take books with excessive damage, mold, insects, pet hair, water damage or books with staining or strong odors. We also accept puzzles with a minimum of 300 pieces. The puzzles must be in good condition and must contain all pieces.

* All trades are at the discretion of the Book Exchange staff. We reserve the right to decline books that do not fall within our trade policy.

When Can I Bring Books To Trade?

We are always happy to look at what you have to trade, Tuesday through Saturday between 10:00am and 4:30pm. We ask that you please bring in only one bag or box at a time and that the container be clean, and free of dirt, debris, and pet hair.

How Long Does It Take?

We usually take less than 10 minutes to go through your books, so we ask that you please wait until we are finished. If you have any books that we are unable to accept we will make a recommendation on where to take them.

Do You Accept Book Donations?

As much as we appreciate your willingness to donate books, we cannot accept donations.
